AIR extension files have some applications, namely:

Files with the AIR extension could be files from the AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) installation package that stores Internet-based applications programmed with Adobe Flash, ActionScript, or Apache Flex.

AIR files are compatible with all desktop and mobile operating systems that use the Adobe AIR runtime, such as Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS, and BlackBerry Tablet OS, and are usually compressed in ZIP.

M.U.G.E.N.

M.U.G.E.N. uses the AIR file extension to store animation settings as plain text. It contains the way how a character should move or how a background scene should simulate movement.

They also store information about the way M.U.G.E.N files are animated.

To open an AIR file, you must be sure of the file's format type, and then verify that you have one of the following applications installed:
