Open BDM File

A BDM extension file is a disc information file created by AVCHD (Advanced Video Coding High Definition High Definition) video recordings typically captured by high definition camcorders.

It should be noted that a BDM file does not contain audio data, but only data that describes the content of the records located in a specific folder.

It is basically a file index that contains information about the contents of a specific directory and can usually be named as index.bdm or movieobj.bdm.

BDM files are located in the AVCHD or BDMV directory of a media storage device.

As you might guess, files with the BDM extension, then, are not generated on optical drives, but only on hard drives, memory cards or devices with rewritable characteristics.

In summary, BDM files are text files with an index of records of the files contained in a directory, therefore, to display their content, the user can change their extension to TXT and open it, for example, with the Notepad or Notepad ++.
