Open CBD File

The CBD file extension is associated with Corel WordPerfect , a text processing program developed by Corel Corporation.

More about WordPerfect

WordPerfect is a text processing application, developed at the end of the 80s, now owned by Corel, with a long history on multiple personal computer platforms.

It was the dominant software in the word processor market, par excellence, displacing the previous market leader, WordStar.

As expected, its dominant position ended after a failure to develop for Microsoft Windows due to Microsoft initially not sharing its specifications for the application programming interface (API) for Windows, which caused the application to be slow.

After receiving the Windows API, there is a long delay in reprogramming before presenting an improved version.

The latter gave way to Microsoft Word, which was introduced at the same time as WordPerfect's first attempt, and Word took over the market because it was faster, helped by aggressive package deals that finally produced Microsoft Office.

WordPerfect passed through the hands of Novell in 1994, and lastly through the hands of Corel in 1996.

Corel has launched regular product launches since 1996, menudo in the form of workshop packages with the name of WordPerfect that include the Quattro Pro calculation sheet, Software for slide presentations and other office-type applications.

The CBD extension files are basically an internal data file and are used for internal purposes of the WordPerfect software.

The CBD files are intermediate-use binary files that must not be edited or opened by the user.

Of course, the WordPerfect software makes use of this type of CBD files in a transparent way for the user.
