Open GVI File
The GVI extension file is a video format that was used by Google Video Player, a video player program developed by Google.
The GVI format is similar to an AVI file and encoded in DivX4 with a compressed MP3 audio track.
The fundamental difference, between an AVI video and a GVI is an additional list contains the "goog" of FourCC immediately after the header.
The GVI can also be played by VLC if the file does not incorporate DRM encoding.
It is important to note that Google Video Player stopped development in 2007 and is no longer distributed by Google.

To open and operate on a GVI file it is necessary to have one of the following software packages:
