The IPX file is a type of image file created by the IPIX imaging tools, which are used to create 360-degree images.

IPX contains a 360-degree, full-environment still photo or a rendering that has been stitched from multiple images.

Thus, an IPX file stores scripting, pan, zoom, and motion settings.

IPX files are used to create virtual tours by photographers, architects, topographic designers, telecommunications and real estate agents.

They can be distributed by email or posted on the web and viewed with the IPX plug-in viewer.

The properties of IPX images can be configured in terms of the most common characteristics for professional imaging, such as quality, width, height and compression.
