The NKI format file contains samples of an instrument or other sounds that were pre-recorded for use in the sampler.
Said NKI file can be modified with effects and other presets to create personalized sounds by the user, thus expanding the versatility of the format.
KONTAKT is the reference platform for SAMPLING instruments, employed by instrument developers at a global level and is compatible for both Mac and Windows.
Software to open a NKI file
The most frequently registered software to work with a NKI file is KONTAKT, however, nkitool is also usual with this type of file, and is compatible for Linux.
