PKCS7 is a type of digital security certificate used by various applications to authenticate a web identity, and it is associated with P7C files. In this case, the P7C files contain a public key used to verify an entity through the use of public key cryptography.

The PKCS7 is a standard on the syntax of the cryptographic message framed within RFC2315.
