Open WEBLOC File
A WEBLOC format and extension file is a shortcut to a website typically generated by the Mac OS X Safari web browser.
It contains the URL of a web page and is created by dragging the website icon next to the address field to the desktop or another folder on your hard drive.
WEBLOC files are similar to URL extension files created by other programs.
Open a WEBLOC file
Although WEBLOC files are generally associated with the Safari browser, they can be opened with other web browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Opera.
In most browsers, you can simply drag and drop the file into an open browser window.
WEBLOC files are not compatible with Safari versions for other operating systems, however you can open WEBLOC files in Windows with WeblocOpener.
WEBLOC files can be opened in a text editor, which will reveal the URL contained in the file.
